Monday Night Football rocks. I mean, it’s great to know that you can come home from work & watch some football. If I was the commish, we would have it every night! Can you imagine the pressure that the FG kicker Lindell had though? I was cheering for the Browns hard core last night, & I was hoping that Lindell would miss the kick with no time left on the clock. He did and all is well for Cleveland (and their biggest fan, Coach Fox!). But I had to think what was going through his head at the time, when he walked onto the field? Everyone misses a kick or two, so I am not going to crucifiy him. I sure wouldn’t want to be that kicker though reading the front page newspaper in Buffalo!
This got me thinking about myself as a “player”. God would be the “coach“. How many times does God send us out onto the field (work, home, the mall, the gym, walmart, best buy, etc.) and cheer us on? Then how many times do we kick the ball wide right (lie, cuss, steal, abuse, argue, etc.). The difference is, we can go out again & try to do better for God, Lindell can’t. It will be forever remembered that the Buffalo Bills lost on a FG kick on Monday Night Football. Our God is awesome, that He gives us a redo…puts time back on the clock….and cheers us on again!
So you are taking the field at _______(fill in the blank). God has called you out for your # to get out there & do something. What do you do today?
