Let’s talk about your BHAGs -Big Hairy Audacious Goals- for our Children’s Ministry at River City. I know I have some! For the past month I have been dreaming about what we could do to take our Children’s Ministry to the next step both for our children and their parents. I know I’m not alone! Here is a great example of a BHAG:
“In 1952, 80 percent of Boeing’s business came from one customer – the U.S. Air Force. European and U.S. airlines showed little interest in jets for commerical use and they saw Boeing as a defense contractor. ‘They build great bombers. Period.’ Boeing still remembered downsizing from 51,000 to 7,500 at the end of WWII. And, it would take three times the average annual after-tax profit for the past five years just to develop a prototype. But, this is the BHAG they chose: to move headlong into commercial aviation. This BHAG transformed commercial aviation and Boeing far outpaced a major rival, Douglas Aircraft, in getting jets to market.”
Let’s talk about our BHAGs this Sunday after the third service. If you have been a part of the Children’s Ministry team for the past 10yrs, you are parent that’s curious about “what’s next”, or you’ve been attending for 2 weeks…this meeting is for you. There are many phrases that talk about doing big things, and one of my favorites is by Lao-tzu “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. Let’s make that single step Sunday, together!
New Ministry, New Vision, New BHAGs!

just wanted you to know I think your vision is right on the mark. would like to see the 4/5 grade excited.. And the 6-8 . We need to strike and keep fueling the fire. These kids know the stories it needs to become their life and story and not their parents.
I for one would like to see the four years olds returned to the other hallway. But we do need to keep the set up in the green room now (for ASP)
I do need ,prayer,,,,,,, Advertisement for my special needs kids.
I hear tell there are some parents with four more kids thinking of coming to RCCC- I have Zero buddies waiting and in fact need three more now. I like sound stage idea. Can the room be staged to make the kids move forward and out of the door ways?
The only other suggestion I have is to find out All those that are in those room And get together on setting up and taking down. I personally , do not believe these things should be put on hank .. last year , The k teacher and I just made a deal to each other this is how I need it to look when I walk in.
